Michael O’Sullivan and his design company, Vibe Design Group specialise in often complex issues relating to the relationship between a potential new property and the site it will occupy.
It’s called site context or analysis. In best utilising the advantages of a site, the property will not only hold its value but also protect the future enjoyment of the property for its owners and neighbours alike.
"What we do is set up parameters of what we have to work with. We have to understand how far we can push it before we start designing and survive greatly on a 'what can we make of this' philosophy," Michael says.
Typically, the main issues are zoning, existing overlays, orientation, sustainability and privacy.
There are a number of stages to visit on your way to the design phase. In the case of Vibe Design Group, a ‘wish list’ is drawn up where owners can include every whim and desire for their new property, considering the budget range.
